Global Awareness Exercise

The speech that meant most to me would have to be Aung San Suu Kyi speech. Even though she didn't  go to Norway to accept the award and to give the speech because she was on house arrest. Her son went and accepted the award and represented his mother. What Aung is doing for people in Burma is unbelievable. I thing she is a brave woman. She has been on house arrest for a while because she fight the government. She really believes in human rights. One quote I really liked was when her son gave the speech and said "I know that if she were free today my mother would thanking you also to pray that the oppressors the oppressed should throw down their weapons and join together to build a nation founded on humanity in the spirit of peace."

The country that stands out to me that most is Hati. Hati has a lot of things going on right now. Haiti is the third hungriest country in the world after Somalia and Afghanistan. The richest 1% of the population controls nearly half of all of Haiti’s wealth. The poorest country in the western hemisphere. One of the poorest countries in the world. Ranks 149 out of 182 on the United Nations Human Development Index. Has a healthy life expectancy of 55 years for women and 53 years for men. Adult literacy is about 62%.78% of Haitians live on less than $2 US per day. A lot of people are raising money to help the hungry and homeless people in Hati. A lot of people go there and help the people out.
